Rick Stein says order ahead to beat the queue. Is he right?
Whether you fancy fish & chips in Padstow, a Goan chicken curry at Fistral or even whole Dover Sole in Sandbanks, the Rick Stein app allows you to browse our takeaway menus at home or when you’re out and about, pre-order your favourite dishes for collection and pay online too. Making it safer and easier for you to order a Rick Stein takeaway.
So when you are 30m from the chip shop takeaway in Padstow and are instructed to use the app from the website to order for collection, myself and family though great.
First off Padstow and surrounding areas don’t really have internet connection (I’m with EE) so getting the app was painful and then having to spend 10min filling out the questions with the only question missing was how long is my third leg 🤨 just to order some chips !
Already had me thinking this is a mistake. So we are logged in finally and click on order for takeaway only for the app not to list the establishment I’m only 30m from and so unable for us to order.
Called telephone number only to receive messages telling us to use the app 😫 we got in car and went to another town for food.
App rubbish, telephone support rubbish, lets just hope when and if we ever get to try the fish & chips they aren’t rubbish

I have never been a fan of apps as they are an expensive and often annoying addition to most mobile phones. Just take a look at the requests they make when they install. Scan And Go is not an app by the way.
To see what others think of the app check out the app store and Google play comments.
